Our Process

A structured, transparent approach that transforms product briefs into manufacturing-ready documentation.

Project Brief

Week 0

Every project begins with a structured kickoff session. We align on business objectives, target users, technical constraints, timeline expectations, and budget parameters. The output is a comprehensive design brief that serves as the project's north star.

Design Brief Document Project Timeline Stakeholder Map Success Criteria
02

Research and Discovery

Weeks 1-3

We investigate the competitive landscape, user behaviors, material possibilities, and manufacturing options. This phase produces the insights that inform every subsequent design decision, ensuring we solve the right problems from the start.

Competitive Analysis User Research Report Material Recommendations Technical Feasibility Study
03

Concept Development

Weeks 3-7

Rapid ideation produces 50 or more concept directions. Through structured evaluation against the design brief criteria, we narrow to three strong directions presented with full sketches, 3D visualizations, and CMF boards for stakeholder review.

04

Prototyping and Validation

Weeks 7-12

The selected concept moves into physical prototyping. We produce appearance models, functional prototypes, and user-test units. Iterative testing cycles refine ergonomics, aesthetics, and mechanical performance before committing to tooling.

Engineering and Documentation

Weeks 12-18

Detailed engineering begins with production-intent 3D CAD models. We develop complete manufacturing documentation including 2D drawings with GD&T specifications, assembly instructions, material callouts, and quality inspection criteria.

Production Support

Weeks 18-24+

We remain engaged through tooling development and initial production runs. Our team reviews first articles, resolves any manufacturing issues, and ensures the final product matches design intent. We stay involved until production quality is consistent.

Built on Twelve Years of Refinement

Reduced Risk

Every phase includes review gates. Issues are caught early when changes are inexpensive, not late when tooling is already cut.

Full Transparency

Clients receive weekly progress updates, access to shared project folders, and participate in every major review milestone.

Predictable Timeline

Structured phases with defined deliverables mean you always know where the project stands and when to expect the next milestone.
